Working together as people of faith for a just and inclusive Scotland

Sister Cities International Exchange

From 17th - 26th September 2011, SIFC hosted 19 delegates from the Interfaith Centre of New York (ICNY) and the UNESCO Centre of Catelonia's Department for Interreligious Dialogue in Barcelona. The delegates visited a number of voluntary and statutory agencies and places of worship across Scotland. For a detailed programme please click here.

The ambitious three year 'Sister Cities' exchange programme was launched by the Interfaith Centre of New York in 2009. The aim of the programme was for  delegates from three cities to meet and share good practice in inter faith initiatives taking place in their respective cities and to witness these first hand. Glasgow was chosen from a number of European cities to participate in this programme in recognition of the extensive inter faith work being undertaken there. Eight Glasgow delegates attended a programme in New York in 2009 and in Barcelona in 2010 and it was Glasgow's turn to host delegates from New York and Barcelona in September 2011.

Members of the Interfaith Centre of New York have added their reflections from the Glasgow exchange in the form of blogs on their website. These can be accessed at www.interfaithcenter.org or click on the links below for each blog:
